Terms of Service

Plain-English summary. Use the site, join the waitlist, and (once we launch) play scenes, get paid, or license data — all under these Terms. Recordings you make in the app are commercially licensed to Accent Studio; we pay you for accepted takes. Don't submit AI-generated or someone else's voice. We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

1 · Agreement

By accessing accentstudio.io or using the Accent Studio application ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2 · Who can use Accent Studio

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher).
You are responsible for accurate registration information and for keeping your credentials secure.
You act as an independent contractor and are responsible for your own tax filings in your jurisdiction.

3 · Waitlist

Submitting your email to the waitlist gives us permission to contact you about product launches, invitations, and related updates. You can unsubscribe from any email or by contacting hello@accentstudio.io.

4 · Creator terms (once the app is live)

4.1 · Grant of ownership and assignment

By submitting audio or participating in roleplay scenarios ("User Content"), you irrevocably assign to Accent Studio all right, title, and interest worldwide in and to the User Content, including copyrights, database rights, trade secrets, and derivative synthetic AI models trained on it.

4.2 · Voice likeness and audio release

You grant Accent Studio perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free rights to process, analyze, normalize, and extract acoustic features from your voice recordings for machine-learning, model-training, and voice-synthesis purposes.

4.3 · Commercialization and sub-licensing

Accent Studio holds full authority to sell, license, lease, or sub-license datasets containing your anonymized audio to third-party institutions, AI labs, and commercial enterprise buyers without additional compensation to you beyond the payouts described in §5.

4.4 · Anonymization and privacy

Accent Studio commits to redacting PII from transcripts and to indexing audio only by cryptographic UUIDs, per our Privacy Policy.

4.5 · Waiver of moral rights

To the extent permitted by law, you waive attribution and integrity rights in the User Content submitted to the Service.

4.6 · Your representations

You represent that (a) the voice you submit is your own; (b) you have all rights necessary to grant the licenses above; (c) you have not been paid or coerced to record specific opinions; (d) the User Content does not defame or infringe on any third party.

5 · Payouts

Base rate: $7.20 – $30.00 per verified hour based on scenario tier and dialect demand.
Peer-QA multipliers: Platinum 1.2× (QS ≥ 95%) · Gold 1.0× (80–95%) · Silver 0.7× (70–80%) · Rejected 0×.
Payout rails and minimums are listed in-app and on our public FAQ. Payout timing depends on the rail (typically 3–5 business days).
Rewards clear only after a scene passes QC and any random audit window.
You are solely responsible for reporting and paying any applicable taxes on payouts you receive.

6 · Prohibited behaviour · anti-fraud

What honest play means, what counts as dishonesty, and exactly what happens if a session is questioned are set out in clause 15 of the Contributor Agreement. These Terms mirror it and do not add to it.

Dishonesty includes synthetic, AI-generated, pre-recorded or replayed audio in place of live speech; someone else recording in your place; misrepresenting your identity, age, language or region, or holding more than one account; rating a partner higher or lower than the recording deserves or arranging to exchange ratings; coordinating filler, repeated or nonsense content; submitting the same content across sessions; and interfering with pairing to reach a chosen partner.
Process. A flagged session is reviewed by a person before any action. You are told what was flagged and why, in the app and by email, and you have 7 days to respond. A different team member decides.
Outcome. Confirmed dishonesty forfeits pending pay for the affected sessions only. Repeated or serious breach may close the account.
Protected. Verified earnings for sessions unaffected by a breach are still paid. Low quality is not dishonesty and is handled by the redo, rating and quality-floor rules, never by forfeiture.

7 · Enterprise-buyer terms

Access to licensed datasets is governed by a separate Data License Agreement (DLA) signed between Accent Studio and the buyer. Standard-tier corpora are licensed non-exclusively, worldwide, in perpetuity, for commercial model-training purposes. Bespoke corpora may carry additional exclusivity and use restrictions. 8 · Service availability

Accent Studio is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We aim for high availability but do not commit to any specific uptime SLA outside of paid enterprise contracts.

9 · Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, for legal or regulatory reasons, or where we suspect fraud. Where we terminate for confirmed dishonesty, pending pay for the affected sessions may be forfeited as described in §6 and clause 15 of the Contributor Agreement.

10 · Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Accent Studio disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11 · Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Accent Studio's total aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you were paid by Accent Studio in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) US $100.

12 · Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware, except where local mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

13 · Changes

When we make material changes to these Terms, we will notify registered users by email and post the new version here at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
